12-Month Review of Second-Hand Car Purchase

I never review a car purchase until after the first year, as it is only then that you get a full appreciation of your vehicle, and what may go wrong. I bought my Freelander from Dorchester Sport at a fair price, and although there were a few minor niggles it was only to be expected for the price and vehicle age. And I can honestly say, 13,000 miles on, I've not had any major issues or concerns. A new set of tires 8 months in and two new front break pads but otherwise it flew through the MOT. Can't say I've ever bought a second-hand car which was so well prepped, and the staff were very polite and helpful. Although my one tip would be if they take you for a test drive make sure they turn the radio off so you can listen for any knocks. We travelled up from Cornwall so we were a little cautious not knowing what we were letting ourselves in for, although we need not have worried. For a small family business, I can't really fault them. I've had worse experiences with the big dealerships! So thank you DS for 12 months of hassle-free motoring and great support, appreciated.

Absolutely great service, and helped us through the process of buying our first car. Sat down with us and took the time to explain everything. The car was in great condition and overall a great experience. Highly recommend.

A great Family business to buy from

We bought our new Freelander 2 from Dorchester Sports, it's a great family business and it was so easy to deal with Darren, no pushy sales and nothing was too much trouble. The cars are immaculately clean, courtesy of Darren, his wife, and his son, and the beautiful setting where the business makes it a pleasure to buy from.

It was a pleasure dealing with Dorchester Sports, Darren made the viewing, test drive, and purchase so relaxed and professional. No hard sell just a pleasure to do business with a very knowledgeable car dealer.

Ethan and his Dad at Dorchester Sports must be the most trustworthy second-hand car dealers in the country. Great communication and fantastic after-sales service. I had a problem the day after I bought the car and Ethan drove 150 miles each way, twice, to collect it, get it repaired, and return it. Amazing!

Great buying experience

Darren communicated in a very helpful way and throughout answered questions and made it easy for me to come and look the car over before buying, picking me up at the station as I came by train to view. The car was as described and was spotless when I came to pick it up. Again Darren made the experience hassle-free and I am delighted with the car. Would wholeheartedly recommend it.

Really helpful, genuine couple. No rush as with normal car salespeople. Gave us the time to look and think about our decision Bit of a nightmare with the bank but they were really patient and even our fur baby was given a treat. Would definitely do business with them again

Excellent All-round service

From start to finish the service we received was excellent. We did not feel under any pressure at all to purchase the car but when we decided to go ahead, Darren was informative and really helpful throughout the whole sale/process. He answered questions quickly and honestly. We liked the fact that we were dealing with an established family business, with the personal touch and we wouldn’t hesitate to go back in the future when we look to change any of our vehicles. We will be recommending Dorchester Sports to our friends and family.

I bought my Fiat 500 Lounge from Ethan, he was great! Ethan was very friendly, honest and answered all the questions that I had and showed genuine customer care. Highly recommend, great communication , very helpful and professional!
